The objective of the Programme of Sustainable Economic Development (DEVED / GIZ) was to improve the conditions for competitiveness and employment in Algerian SMEs.

The activities of this pilot project aimed at increasing opportunities for young people to gain employment in SMEs and focus on the development and implementation of strategies to improve young people's access to employment by providing a ground for dialogue (“employment fair – junction of ideas”) between the young employment seekers and the private sector.

This job seeker and employers fair took place as a pilot project in the Wilaya of Oran in the Oran Commercial Fair Palace, including several other meeting spaces in the same city. The target group focused on young graduates of the Wilaya of Oran.
The pilot project preparation and monitoring was provided by a "task force" composed of representatives of the SME Directorate General, the Ministry of Investments and SMEs, and the GIZ-DEVED programme. This "task force" was assisted by PEM CONSULT and an Algerian Consulting Partner subcontracted by PEM CONSULT, who organized the event and coordinated the various services.
