The development of the small and medium sized industries (SMIs) was harmed by lacking management knowledge of the company owners and inadequate technical and commercial skills of the staff.

The project assisted local associations of SMIs in supporting and advising companies by identifying their needs for advisory and training services, by evaluating the local training and consultancy services, by assisting the elaboration of training modules and combining offer and demand.

In the orientation phase, management and technical courses were carried out for local trainers. After the orientation phase was terminated, the project was stopped since it was impossible to identify suitable structures of implementation for the following phase.
