The Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL) has requested the German Government to support the further improvement of the vocational education and training (VET) in Sri Lanka.

The Financial Cooperation (FC) Programme, through KfW, targets the financing of the procurement of services, goods and works for the envisaged SLGTI.

The FC Programme consists of the following tasks:

• Consultancy services for the preparation and implementation of the project;

• Preparation of the preliminary and final design for the institute including the full tender dossier;
• Construction of a new vocational training centre in Kilinochchi – the Sri Lankan-German Training Institute (SLGTI) – including the related infrastructure;
• Supervision of construction, provisional and final acceptance of works;
• Procurement and installation of the necessary training equipment, machines and teaching materials;
• Management of initial technical supplier’s training of teachers / trainers / users for the proper operation and maintenance of the equipment.
